19 19 19 31 19 65 19 19 49 31 31 19 19 19 19 19 45The Department of Radiation Oncology fully embraces the importance of Community Engagement in all aspects of its three-part mission of excellence in patient care, basic and translational research, and the education of residents and students. Our advocacy takes many forms across the landscape of our department. At its foundation is the investment of our leadership, faculty, trainees and staff in programs and initiatives that strive to promote curiosity, connection, and empathy. In the following pages, we highlight some of the resources and programs through which we further engagement with communities within our department and beyond. These pages also contain educational material and information on our latest initiatives, as well as guides on other community groups and resources within Radiation Oncology and Penn Medicine. We invite you to visit the site regularly, as we continue to update and expand material!

2 35bThe Committee for Community Engagement of the Department of Radiation Oncology is committed to ensuring that connection and empathy are embedded in the way we function. This includes through the ongoing engagement of and between our team members, our interactions with patients and other communities outside of Penn, and our presence and service in the community. We strive to support the communities where we work and live, including with educational pipeline programs that serve local students and perhaps inspire some to ultimately pursue careers in oncology and Penn. We are always eager to identify, innovate and participate in opportunities to further connection and engagement that extends between and beyond the walls of our clinics, offices, and laboratories to all communities!
