Areas of Interest

My specialialty is in the treatment of gastrointestinal malignancies with radiation therapy.  I also specializes in the use of radiation implants (brachytherapy) and photodynamic therapy (PDT) for a number of malignancies.  I also serve as Editor-in-Chief of OncoLink (http://www.oncolink.org), the oldest and largest cancer information resource on the Internet.  My research interests include multimodality clinical trials for the treatment of gastrointestinal cancers, the use of the Internet by cancer patients, and the use of complementary and alternative medical therapies by cancer patients.  I am also a key member of the clinical team for the development of a proton therapy treatment center at the University of Pennsylvania, and I have authored numerous publications in scientific medical journals and has also written numerous books for patients regarding cancer treatment.
